You have our word on it – and you have Jack’s signature on it! Jack Nicklaus Signature golf. Stonewolf is more than a Jack Nicklaus designed course, which in and of itself is pretty impressive. This is a Jack Nicklaus Signature course. That means the man, the legend himself, Jack Nicklaus took an active hand in the total design and construction of this magnificent golf course. This is one of only four Jack Nicklaus Signature courses in Illinois and Missouri! Stonewolf features Zoysia grass tees and fairways and bent grass greens. A challenging round. But with five sets of tees, play is as easy or hard as you want . “This is a shot maker’s course,” says Stonewolf Pro Chris Nava. “Several of the holes have a lot of character – you’re not going to be hitting driver off the tee necessarily. The layup holes will require you to make two good approach shots. “Here you’ll find distinct bunkers – real “Nicklaus” bunkers! You will remember these bunkers for their shape, design, placement – everything!” Expanding our capabilities to better serve your needs. We’re spiffing up all of our facilities and expanding our capabilities to better serve you for outings, weddings, tournaments and any other event you’d like to hold here.

Sycamore Creek Golf Club

Sycamore Creek is the brainchild of the Kahrs family. It is built around their internationally known fish hatchery that has been owned and operated by the family for over 50 years. Having this much water in close proximity does add to the excitement of the course, but also adds to its uniqueness. So much care must be taken to keep the hatchery and the course in balance, chemicals must be environmentally safe in order to ensure the life of the fish and in return we use the water from the ponds to irrigate the golf course. It is a tricky balancing act but one that the family would never trade for a single moment. In the spring when we experience sudden showers during the day, some golfers will take refuse in the hatchery building, which is also onsite. These golfers then get the added experience of seeing the hatchery in the height of spawning season. The most talked about fish would be the paddlefish, or spoonbill. The large fish, four to five feet in length, are held in tanks in the hatchery, until time to spawn, so the golfers get to see these fish up close and personal. In order to understand the situation better maybe we should start with a little more background information. Jim and Liz Kahrs are proud owners of the hatchery as well as the golf course. Both are unique in the fact that they are truly family owned and operated businesses. Their sons run the hatchery and can claim the fame of being golf course designers, their daughter runs our weekly Couples’ League, their daughter-in-law is the golf course General Manager. One nice thing that this golf course does bring to the table is its dedication to a quality experience. Keeping the course in top condition falls to our superintendent, but working hard comes naturally to the Kahrs family and they have made sure to stay involved on a daily basis. The condition of the course is a great source of pride to all, and everyone works well together to give the golfer the best total experience possible. When the facility first opened the Kahrs family made a commitment to always keep the membership and daily fees as low as possible, so that anyone could come and enjoy the facility. It is a true dedication to our golfers that keeps us all going, it is also the reason we are glad to call this place home.
